Connect your WeChat Official Account

Link your WeChat Official Account to the AI Travel Concierge by DM2find so Chinese travelers can reach you directly via WeChat.

⚠️ Before you connect

This connection is only available for registered DM2find partners. Please make sure you have an active DM2find account before proceeding. If you don’t have an active account yet, please request your destination slug via our request destination slug page first.

🇨🇳 Why WeChat?

WeChat has over 1.3 billion active users and is the primary communication platform for Chinese travelers worldwide. Connecting your WeChat Official Account ensures Chinese visitors can reach you in their preferred app.

📋 What you need before starting

  • A verified WeChat Official Account (服务号 or 订阅号)
    Register at mp.weixin.qq.com if you don’t have one yet
  • Your Original ID (begins with gh_)
  • Your AppID and AppSecret
  • A Token (you choose this — any string, 3–32 characters)
  • DM2find’s outbound IP added to your API IP whitelist
    Required so DM2find can call the WeChat API on your behalf. Add 178.104.126.125 to WeChat → Basic Configuration → IP Whitelist.

Original ID

  1. Log in at mp.weixin.qq.com
  2. Open Settings & Development → Account Details (账号详情)
  3. Copy the Original ID (原始ID) — starts with gh_

AppID & AppSecret

  1. Open Settings & Development → Basic Configuration (基本配置)
  2. Copy the AppID (开发者ID)
  3. Click Reset next to AppSecret (开发者密码) — WeChat shows it only once, so copy it immediately

Token

  1. On the same Basic Configuration page, find Server Configuration (服务器配置)
  2. Choose any string of 3–32 characters (letters and numbers only)
  3. Paste the same value here and into the WeChat platform

The Token is used to verify that incoming messages genuinely come from WeChat. The same value must be in both places.

Server URL (set this in WeChat after connecting)

  1. On the Server Configuration page, set URL to the webhook DM2find will provide you
  2. Leave EncodingAESKey empty unless you need Security Mode
  3. Set Message Encryption Mode to Plain Text Mode (明文模式)
  4. Click Submit — WeChat will verify the URL by sending a one-time check

🔌 About the API IP whitelist

WeChat blocks API calls from IPs not in your whitelist. Add 178.104.126.125 to Basic Configuration → IP Whitelist in your WeChat platform before connecting. If you skip this step, the connection will fail with a clear error.

🧪 How to test after connecting

  1. Open WeChat on your phone
  2. Search for your Official Account by name or scan your QR code
  3. Tap Follow (关注) if not already following
  4. Send a message like “你好” (Hello)
  5. The AI Travel Concierge should respond within seconds ✅

⚠️ Note: Users must follow your Official Account before messaging. Make sure your account allows messages: Settings → Allow users to send messages.

⚠️ Important: Test from a different WeChat account — not the account that manages the Official Account.

Your destination slug was provided by DM2find when you signed up.

Account Details → Original ID. Starts with gh_.

Basic Configuration → AppID. Starts with wx.

Basic Configuration → AppSecret. Reset to view it — WeChat shows it once.

You choose this value. Paste the same string into Server Configuration in WeChat.

Only fill this in if you set Message Encryption Mode to Security Mode in WeChat.

⚠️ Requires a WeChat Official Account. Personal WeChat accounts are not supported.

WeChat Account Connected!

Your WeChat Official Account has been successfully linked to dm2find.ai.

One more step — configure the Server URL in WeChat:

  1. Open Settings & Development → Basic Configuration → Server Configuration
  2. Set URL to the webhook URL DM2find provided you
  3. Paste your Token (the same value you entered above)
  4. Choose Plain Text Mode for Message Encryption
  5. Click Submit — WeChat will verify the URL
  6. Click Enable (启用) to go live

Then test from your phone:

  1. Open WeChat and find your Official Account
  2. Send “你好”
  3. The AI Travel Concierge should respond within seconds ✅
